Guiding Philosophy and Principles
More Than a Lawyer:
A Warrior Advocate™
Will M. Helixon’s advocacy philosophy is deeply rooted in his decades of military service, where ethics, integrity, and compassion were not just ideals but necessities. He has stood beside warriors in combat zones and courtrooms as a soldier and lawyer, gaining an unprecedented understanding of service members’ struggles. His unfaltering commitment to fairness under the law ensures that no service member feels abandoned during their critical moments. A personal philosophy rooted in the rule of law, service, and empathy is at the heart of this outstanding tenure. His path from Texas debate podiums to military courtrooms and beyond has shaped him into a military lawyer and a zealous advocate for those who serve.
Pledge to Service Members
Will’s guiding principle is clear: every Warrior Client™ deserves the same dogged dedication they gave in service to the nation. Recognizing the high stakes in military cases—careers, reputations, and freedoms—Will approaches each case with exacting preparation and true resolve. Whether defending against misconduct allegations or advocating for fairness in adverse administrative actions, he ensures his clients receive justice, dignity, and the representation they deserve.
The foundation of this philosophy is a deep respect for the sacrifices made by service members. Having stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Soldiers in combat zones and advised them during critical moments, there’s an “inside” understanding of military culture and the unique hardships those in uniform face.
Every Warrior ClientTM is approached with the understanding that their case is not just a legal matter but a life-altering event. This perspective drives the obligation to fight for lawfulness with tenacity and compassion, ensuring that no service member feels abandoned or unsupported during their most trying times.
Personal Grit and Growth
Decisive moments have reinforced Will’s emphasis on fairness and equity throughout his legal endeavors. From navigating life-changing cases in combat zones to overcoming personal struggles with PTSD, anxiety, and alcoholism, his fortitude has fueled a deeper empathy for his clients. These experiences serve as a reminder that advocacy is not just about legal outcomes—it’s about transforming lives.
A pivotal moment in this journey was his internal battle against personal problems, including a struggle with alcohol. In 2018, with the loving support of his now-wife, this challenge was faced head-on, resulting in a life-changing transformation. This experience of “inner strength” and redemption strengthened his resolve and deepened his empathy for others dealing with their own struggles.
This personal growth reinforces the belief that everyone deserves a second chance, and that advocacy must go beyond legal representation to truly support clients on a human level.
The Warrior-First Philosophy
The Warrior-First philosophy is more than a professional approach; it is a personal resolve to view every case as a mission to protect a service member’s career, family, and future. It recognizes that behind every case file is someone who has pledged their life to serve the nation and deserves the same commitment in return.
Dedication to Outstanding Legal Quality
This philosophy is further reflected in the rigorous preparation and strategic thinking brought to every case. Whether traversing the complexities of military law, challenging overzealous prosecutors, or challenging unfair command decisions, the approach is marked by meticulous attention to detail and an unrelenting pursuit of justice.
